Collas Crill governance expert to address NEDs
Collas Crill partner Ian Kirk will address non executive
directors and companies looking to bring NEDS onto their board at a
seminar in Jersey in June.
The Core Business Consultancy event on 19 June will address the
key role of the non-executive director, particularly the impact on
overall business performance of directors' and managers' approach
to corporate governance.
A NED should bring experience and impartiality to a business,
but the requirements of the role are becoming more onerous as
corporate governance continues to impose more responsibility and
liability on NEDs.
Ian Kirk will address delegates on the legal responsibilities of
a NED and developments in corporate governance, and will discuss
some of the legal issues a NED should consider before accepting an
appointment.
Other speakers at the event are Michael Schulz from KPMG,
Bridget Barker from MacFarlanes London and John Henwood MBE.
The event is aimed at companies looking to strengthen their
board, professionals considering a NED position and experienced
NEDs.
