Collas Crill hosts students in biggest ever Jersey Finance work experience scheme
Collas Crill is hosting two sixth form students as part of a
work experience programme organised by Jersey Finance in
partnership with Careers Jersey.
As part of Jersey Finance's biggest ever 'Life in Finance'
programme, Collas Crill is helping provide a practical way for
students to gain new business and personal skills, learn about the
finance industry and gain an insight into the diverse careers
opportunities available.
Carla Harris, communications manager at Jersey Finance,
commented: "Not only are we able to offer placements to more
students than ever before as part of the scheme this year, but we
also had an overwhelming number of applications from students too.
This clearly reflects the importance they place on work experience
as a way to develop their employability skills, particularly in a
persistently challenging job market. That more firms than ever
before are supporting the scheme this year is fantastic too, as it
simply wouldn't happen without their commitment and
enthusiasm."
Mario Lundy, Careers Jersey, said: "This work experience
programme offers a fantastic opportunity for work-based learning,
which can really help students on a number of levels. As well as
providing them with new experiences, it also gives them a unique
opportunity to acquire an insight into the career choices that
exist within the finance industry and a chance to demonstrate
their employability skills to potential future employers - all of
which are absolutely vital for young people in the current tough
job market."
