Collas Crill has made a number of promotions across its Channel Island and Caribbean offices.
In the Channel Islands, Jersey-based Fritha Ford and Lynne Calder have been promoted to Group Partner and in Guernsey Amy Davies has been promoted to Senior Associate. In Cayman Chantelle Day has been promoted to Partner and Annalisa Shibli to Counsel.
Channel Islands
Fritha is a member of the Private Client and Trusts team and is an experienced litigator who specialises in contentious and semi-contentious trust work and private client disputes.
She is a Jersey Advocate specialising in trusts-related and private client disputes. Fritha has extensive experience of complex, high value, multi-jurisdictional trust disputes and has been involved in some of the largest and most advanced trust litigation to come before the Royal Court in Jersey.
In addition to hostile litigation matters, Fritha is regularly involved in applications concerning the blessing of momentous trustee decisions and applications to set aside trusts on grounds of mistake. Fritha is also frequently instructed to provide Jersey trust law advice in the context of high net worth divorces.
Lynne joined Collas Crill in 2016 and is part of the Financial Services and Regulatory team, offering specialised private client services.
She undertakes a wide range of civil and commercial and regulatory matters with particular emphasis on construction disputes, contentious trusts, banking litigation, property and professional negligence claims.
Lynne has significant experience representing high-profile clients in a range of contractual and commercial disputes, the team being the favoured advisor for many of Jersey's high net worth individuals and families on their private, property, trust and family disputes.
Amy is a member of the Financial Services and Regulatory team in Guernsey. Her practice encompasses a range of work, including regulatory, financial services disputes and criminal.
She has experience in assisting in the investigation of internal Suspicious Activity Reports and has been involved in undertaking the prosecution of complex fraud matters, including the charging decision, preparation of court papers and Advocacy.
Amy started her career in criminal defence, before commissioning as an Officer in the Army Legal Service. This saw her posted within the UK and overseas. Upon leaving the Army Amy joined the Crown Prosecution Service, where she undertook a broad range of criminal work.
Cayman
Chantelle is a member of the Financial Services and Regulatory team. She has extensive experience with various investment fund structures, including hedge funds, private equity funds, technology and venture capital funds, cryptocurrency funds, segregated portfolio companies and unit trusts.
She has worked on a variety of corporate matters including joint ventures, SPACs, corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions and migrations. She also advises on regulatory matters, including data protection, economic substance, beneficial ownership, FATCA/CRS, VASP and fintech matters, as well as CIMA enforcement matters for corporate service providers.
Chantelle has been practising law for 11 years, spending four of those years practising Irish law based in Dublin and London.
Annalisa is a member of the Insolvency and Corporate Disputes team. She has a broad practice covering commercial litigation, cross-border insolvency and restructuring.
Her experience includes work on high-value fraud and asset tracing claims, the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and shareholder disputes. She regularly advises limited partners, shareholders, directors and fund managers on insolvency-related matters.
In addition in Jersey Amanda Marett has been promoted to Business Assistant and Luca Angelillo to IT Help Desk Analyst. Based in the UK, Ruth Presland has been promoted to Legal Technology and Innovation Manager in the Knowledge Management team.
