Collas Crill has appointed Of Counsel Danielle Brouard to head up and develop Collas Crill's employment law practice on island, working closely with both the firm's corporate and dispute resolution teams in Guernsey.
Acting for both employers and employees, Danielle advises on all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious, including employment contracts and policies, disciplinary, grievance and capability issues, sickness absence, restrictive covenants, termination of employment, employment tribunal litigation and employment aspects of transactions. She has a particular interest in discrimination law.
Danielle also advises on data protection law matters relating to the workplace, including subject access requests.
Prior to joining Collas Crill, Danielle spent 14 years working in London for global law firm Baker McKenzie, where she advised clients on UK employment law issues. She worked with clients in a wide range of sectors, including financial services, technology and retail. She also spent time on secondment to British Airways where she advised on employee relations and trade union-related matters.
Danielle said: 'I'm really excited to have joined Collas Crill, and to have the opportunity to consolidate and further develop the Firm's employment law practice. With major changes to Guernsey's discrimination laws on the horizon, it feels like the perfect time to be moving back to the island and starting this new role. I hope that my extensive experience of UK discrimination law and practice will prove valuable to our clients as they navigate the upcoming legal changes.'
Wayne Atkinson, who heads up Collas Crill's corporate, finance and funds team in Guernsey, said: 'We are delighted to welcome Danielle to the Collas Crill team here in Guernsey. As employers, both locally and worldwide, get to grips with the future of the workplace and changing employee needs and demands due to the pandemic, specialised employment advice is hugely important for all businesses. Danielle's expertise and years of experience will be tremendously helpful for our clients.'
