Collas Crill has appointed Stephen Leontsinis as Managing Partner of its Cayman office. Stephen takes the reins from Alan de Saram who steps down after five successful years in the role.
Stephen joined Collas Crill in 2015 as a Partner and the head of the firm's dispute resolution team in the Cayman Islands. Over the course of the past five years, Stephen's successes have allowed him to grow the team from two attorneys to a department of three partners and nine attorneys who are now considered to be a 'go to litigation practice' in Cayman.
Known for his commercial approach and ability to unite opposing parties, Stephen is ranked in Chambers & Partners and recognised as a leading individual in Legal 500. He specialises in corporate and commercial litigation, in particular the insolvency and restructuring of companies, and was called to the Cayman Bar in 2009.
Group Managing Partner Jason Romer said: 'Stephen has built up a thriving dispute resolution practice with a strong reputation in insolvency and restructuring matters. Alongside his exceptional litigation skills, he demonstrates great team leadership and business sense, instincts that I know he will very capably transfer to the Managing Partner role.
'I am delighted to welcome Stephen to the Group's Board and look forward to seeing where he takes the Cayman partnership over the coming years.'
Stephen Leontsinis said: 'I am extremely proud to accept the position of local managing partner in the Cayman Islands. As we collectively navigate the uncharted waters that 2020 has brought us, I hope that I will be in a position to make a positive impact on the firm's growth in diversity and in leveraging the myriad of opportunities that will present themselves to us as we become more agile as a practice both here and abroad.'
Alan de Saram will focus on the firm's corporate practice in Cayman as well as its financial services business, Collas Crill Corporate Services.
Jason continues: 'Huge thanks to Alan for his strong local leadership as Cayman Managing Partner. His insight and commitment has been invaluable through our formative years in business together, from the early days of the merger with CARD, to the Collas Crill partnership that we are all incredibly proud of today.'
