Collas Crill group partners Paul Wilkes and Wayne Atkinson, from the firm’s Guernsey office, have been recognised in this year’s Who’s Who Legal Private Funds guide making Collas Crill one of only three law firms to have lawyers featured for Guernsey Fund Formation in this year’s guide.
Since 1996, Who's Who Legal has identified lawyers and economists that the market has highlighted as leading legal specialists.
Nominees are selected based upon comprehensive, independent survey work with both general counsel and private practice lawyers worldwide.
The listing comprises fund formation specialists and regulatory experts from more than 100 law firms across 28 countries.
Paul heads up Collas Crill's corporate, finance and funds team. He specialises in investment funds and banking, advising on the establishment and regulation of open and closed ended funds.
Wayne works with a broad range of regulated entities and investment funds on fundraising, transaction and investment structuring as well as commercial contracts and mergers and acquisitions.
Paul said: “As a firm we have invested heavily, working closely with industry, the regulator and government, in developing Guernsey’s proposition. Most notably, the Guernsey Green Fund, on the product side, and South Africa, in terms of renewed market focus. Those investments are now paying dividends for the team and the Island more generally.”
Wayne said: "This recognition is timely; our leading open-ended fund practice continues to grow and our work developing new markets for Guernsey funds outside Europe is paying off with a number of new fund launches currently in the works."
