Collas Crill is a Jersey law firm providing Jersey legal advice and currently structured as a customary law partnership.
Following recent statutory changes allowing Jersey law firms to do so, it is proposed that Collas Crill will commence trading as Collas Crill LLP from 1 January 2019, under the Limited Liability Partnerships (Jersey) Law 2017. Collas Crill LLP was registered on 12 December 2018 in Jersey with registration number 78, and from 1 January 2019 legal advice will be provided by Collas Crill LLP, a legal services body recognised under Article 17A of the Law Society of Jersey Law 2005 (as amended) both to new and current clients. The liability of partners in a limited liability partnership is limited as a matter of statute and, generally, partners in a limited liability partnership are not liable for its debts or losses.
All relevant steps have been taken with the Registry and Law Society of Jersey to effect this change to LLP status.
