Collas Crill has promoted Annabel Bishop to Senior Associate.
Annabel is a member of the Financial Services and Regulatory team in the firm's British Virgin Islands office.
Annabel advises on banking and finance transactions (including real estate finance and Islamic finance), mergers and acquisitions, funds and other general corporate and commercial matters.
She relocated to BVI in September 2022 after spending four years post-qualification within the firm's Financial Services and Regulatory team in Guernsey.
Annabel initially joined Collas Crill as a paralegal before undertaking her training contract with the firm, qualifying as a Solicitor of England and Wales in September 2018.
Throughout Annabel's tenure in Guernsey, she worked on a number of cross-jurisdictional and cross-departmental matters. This included assisting the property team on the acquisition of large commercial properties in both Guernsey and Jersey, and acting for the borrower in the financing of a significant hotel development in Guernsey.
During her training contract, Annabel undertook several client secondments to leading private banks and to Charles Russell Speechlys LLP's private wealth disputes team in London. She also spent three months in Collas Crill's insolvency and corporate disputes team in the Cayman Islands.
Annabel read psychology and anthropology at Oxford Brookes University and went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law and then the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, London Moorgate.
Annabel was admitted to the Bar of the BVI in 2022.
Ellie Crespi, BVI Managing Partner at Collas Crill, said: 'Since relocating in 2022 Annabel has been a huge asset to the BVI team. Her experience across different jurisdictions and practice areas, in addition to her secondments, has meant she can bring the client's perspective to matters and transactions. It is a pleasure to work with her, and I am thrilled to announce her promotion to Senior Associate.'
