Collas Crill is sponsoring the fifth annual National Association of Federal Equity Receivers (NAFER) conference, which takes place in Washington D.C. at the Mayflower Hotel from the 13 to the 15 October 2016.
The conference will feature various professional panel sessions addressing key issues and relevant topics for Federal Equity Receivers and those who support receiverships.
Topics will include international asset recovery, distributing receivership funds, financial issues that receivers face and ethical issues arising in the various points of communication, among many others.
There will also be a panel from district court judges sharing their views on a wide variety of issues. Moderated by Robert Mosier, President and CEO, Mosier & Company, the judges will include Hon. David Carter (C.D. Cal.), Hon. Darrin Gayles (S.D. Fla.) and Hon. Robert Shelby (D. Utah).
In attendance at the event will be senior associate Simon Hurry and associate Simon Heggs.
Stephen Leontsinis, head of Collas Crill's dispute resolution department in the Cayman Islands said: "It's a great opportunity for Collas Crill to support NAFER and, in particular, the annual conference. As our commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring team continues to grow in size we continue to regularly liaise with office holders and U.S. counsel in relation to the identification, preservation and recovery of U.S. sited assets; it is important for us to be represented at this event and to seek to bring some clarity and understanding between the differences of the practices in the U.S. and those of offshore jurisdictions."
