Collas Crill group partner Angela Calnan will be speaking as part of a panel on Monday 4 March, at the International Bar Association (IBA)'s 24th International Private Client Conference on 'Common Reporting Standard: practical lessons; must we change our drafting?'
Angela heads our multi-award winning fiduciary practice in Guernsey (STEP Legal Team of the Year (midsize) 2015/16) and leads our Middle East Practice Group.
An international panel will discuss the implementation and challenges in interpreting the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and its interface with their local regulatory and professional responsibilities, asking questions such as:
- How does CRS impact upon data protection and client confidentiality?
- Can we draft to improve privacy?
- Are there variances in opinion upon what is reported and how trusts, trustees, settlors, protectors and beneficiaries are reported upon?
- Is this the new normal in global information exchange?
