Group Partner and Head of Fiduciary, Angela Calnan, will be speaking at the Private Client Middle East Conference in Dubai in November.
During her session, 'Lessons learned from a recent case study on structuring onshore Dubai residential real estate using offshore vehicles', she will discuss some recent Dubai cases and share insight into her work in the region.
This live case study involves a non-practicing Muslim family. Mother and father are in their seventies and their son and daughter are both in their thirties. The four family members co-own four Dubai residential properties in equal shares. The family are keen to achieve:
- equality of succession between male and female heirs as opposed to the strict Sharia Law division of assets on death; and
- a simpler probate/succession process overall.
Angela will go through the current structuring techniques being used and the art of drafting trust and foundation documents in a way that the Dubai Lands Department and JAFZA will find acceptable.
The conference will take place on 3 November at The Address, Dubai Mall. If you would like to attend, please contact Angela to receive a VIP code which will entitle you to 20% off the fee.
