Over the past 12 months, STAR trusts have been the subject of numerous new judgments issued by the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands. The judgments in the G Trust case offer up helpful new judicial commentary both on the role of beneficiaries of STAR trusts in trust disputes and the duties of trustees facing attacks against STAR Trusts, while the more recent ruling in AA v JTC confirms that the Public Trustee v Cooper jurisdiction may be utilised by enforcers of STAR trusts. Our specialist panellists will discuss the quirks of these cases and offer up some practical tips for administering STAR trusts in practice.
