Collas Crill is sponsoring the Guernsey Investment Funds Association (GIFA) and Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) Autumn Update on current issues in the funds industry.
Taking place on Tuesday 10 October at 1 Great George Street, London, the event will be held as two panel discussions covering the following two key topics:
- The Barbell Effect: here to stay? - there is an apprehension among traditional asset managers that they will lose out as money increasingly shifts to cheap, passive strategies on the one hand and alternative investments and high return specialists on the other. This "barbell" distribution is putting significant pressure on the shape of the funds sector. Is it just a fad or has the future already arrived?
- Current trends in Operational Due Diligence - the operational due diligence process has continued to evolve significantly since the financial crisis. With the seemingly unending political uncertainty and market volatility, there is now an even greater focus by investors on ODD. Requirements now include increased reporting and transparency, robustness of corporate governance and a culture of compliance. AIMA has long led the way in this field, and its ODD questionnaire is the market standard. With the release of AIMAs updated questionnaire, what better time to discuss the shifting focus of investors in this key hurdle to securing institutional investors.
The event will take place from 8.30am-10am with refreshments being served from 8am.
