Charles advises on a range of contentious matters, with a particular focus on private wealth disputes and complex commercial litigation.

He also has an active trust advisory practice, advising trustees, family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals on growing and protecting private capital offshore.

Experience

Charles' litigation experience includes cross-jurisdictional proceedings concerning the restructuring of trusts holding assets worth approximately $1bn and defending claims brought in Guernsey against the former directors of a prominent Middle-Eastern construction group.

"I love getting to the root of the legal and practical matters at issue, whilst remaining focused on the bigger picture, to achieve fair and efficient outcomes for clients."

Charles has also acted for settlors and trustees in administrative trust applications concerning the setting aside of dispositions into a trust, the blessing of momentous decisions by a trustee, and the interpretation of powers under a trust instrument.

As part of his advisory practice, Charles regularly assists with the establishment, administration and re-organisation of often complex and multi-jurisdictional private wealth structures.

Background

Charles joined Collas Crill in 2018 as a bursary student. He graduated from the University of Surrey with First Class Honours in Law LLB (Hons) in 2022. In May 2024, he was admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales, having completed a training contract at the firm.
